Lamborghini Jalpa, whose release was established in 1981 after the premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, came to replace the Lamborghini Silhouette model. The car turned out to be much more successful than its predecessor – the company managed to sell 419 such cars.
It is noteworthy that Lamborghini Jalpa (“Halpa” – a breed of combat bulls) represented the segment of “available cars” and was much cheaper than Lamborghini Countach.
In the outlines of the sports car, the features of the fantasy of the designers atelier Bertone easily traced the features of the fantasy. And although partly Lamborghini Jalpa looked like Lamborghini Silhouette, it was a completely new car. The processed interior, adjustable seats, a new dashboard and a changed steering wheel – all indicated that this is the next generation of sportsmen of a famous brand.
The engine for Lamborghini Jalpa 3-liter working volume was borrowed from Lamborghini Silhouette. He received a 75-mm piston and 255 horsepower power of power at 7000 rpm. Instead of the 15-inch wheels installed on Lamborghini Silhouette, 16-inch. Together with the construction of the body, all this gave the model the enviable ease of the course.
Lamborghini Jalpa went down in history as one of the successful vehicles of the Italian Auto Concert. Its production ended in the summer in 1988.
