In the last article, we talked about the beacons for the floor screed, now we will analyze the filling of the floor screed.
One of the stages of the production of the floor screed is to fill it with a solution, which, as a rule, is made of sand and cement. After mixing these ingredients, the mixture should turn out to be gray, without yellow interspersed, red or brown, which will mean excess of the amount of sand in the proportion.
In order for the screed not to cover the hillocks and divorces, and also does not lose its strength – the permissible norm of water in the solution should not exceed. To increase its plasticity and relieve alignment, you can apply special additives that allow you to achieve these qualities with a decrease in the amount of water. To determine the required amount of water in the solution, you can use special devices, however, an experienced builder without much difficulty and reasonable devices will be able to determine the sufficiency of water in the mixture, which should be similar to sour cream or dense dough, and do not have lumps.
To mix the solution, the best way will be – mechanical, using concrete mixers, since this method allows you to get a better mixture than with manual mixing.
The solution must be used no later than after 1.5 hours, after preparing it. It is extremely undesirable to leave an unused solution at night.
In order to avoid air voids in the screed, a freshly laid solution must be pierced with a thin rod, which will release the resulting air clusters.
In the next article, we will consider laying the floor screed and caring for it
