Aerated concrete block: what is it, distinctive features

Aerated concrete block, foam block and a wall block of light concrete are normalized, given the brands of medium density. With the help of medium density, it is shown how much a solid component of light concrete and air of the volume of materials weighs.

This indicator is used during the calculations of the entire weight of structures, which determine the type, materials and depth of the foundation, taking into account the composition of the soil in the construction territory. There is a great dependence between the density of the materials and their strength characteristic (to compression, bends, for stretching, elasticity modules, and so on) – if the materials are dense, then they have great strength, which makes the gas block with different quality.

But if concrete is cellular, then a significant adjustment to this dependence is made using the internal macrostructure of materials. If the pores are small and uniform, then the material will be durable with stable indicators of medium density. For this reason, an aerated concrete unit, which has the same density with foam blocks, has a higher constructive strength, which allows it to be successfully used to build a house of huge number of storeys without damage to the heat -protective property.
