Survival insulation of the floor: how to do it correctly with your own hands

The problem of noise from neighbors always worried living in an apartment building. More often, inconvenience gets from neighbors from above. There is a good way out in such a situation – to apply additional measures to sound insulation of the floor.

Today there are numerous options for additional sound insulation, however, perhaps the most effective is the floating floor. According to this method, a special lining layer must be placed on reinforced concrete overlap and then pour a screed.

The thickness of the screed should be approximately 8 cm. Noise insulation for floor screed is the maximum effective and reliable method. However, it should be noted that this method has its drawbacks.

It cannot be used everywhere, as it has a fairly large weight, but the supporting structures cannot withstand such a large load. In addition, the screed dries in 4 weeks.

Today there are various materials that can provide good sound insulation. For example, mineral wool, expanded clay or perlite. They are very easy to install, as they easily fit. For many years, these materials have established themselves well in the construction market, and are in great demand.
